As expected, first place went to Estil from Lierne, who has challenged Kjerkol’s place at the top, and who won a majority of four out of seven in the nomination committee.

126 out of 133 delegates were present and voted during the nomination meeting at Hell in Stjørdal on Saturday. 64 or more votes were needed to win first place.
Estil received 81 votes from the nomination meeting, Kjerkol received 45.
After the election of Estil, the minority’s proposal in second place on the list, mayor of Nærøysund Amund Hellesø, also chose to withdraw from the place.
Kjerkol has a long career in the Labor Party and is leader of the county party in Trøndelag. She has been elected to the Storting since 2013. From 2021 to April 2024 she was Minister of Health and Care. She had to resign after her master’s thesis from 2021 was rejected for cheating and plagiarism by Nord University.
Joint nomination meetings are held in the two constituencies in Trøndelag on Saturday.
Later in the day, constituency south will hold its nomination meeting. There, it is expected that Trond Giske will win first place on the Storting list. This is against the majority recommendation from the nomination committee, which has favored Per Olav Hopsø in first place.
