Holm was replaced after 58 minutes in the away game against Feyenoord. Ten minutes later he went hard into a tackle and put the knobs in the calf of Mats Wieffer. As a result, he was sent off and had to leave the pitch in Rotterdam.
It was Celtic’s second red card in just four minutes. Just before, Gustaf Lagerbielke made a penalty and was sent off.
Calvin Stengs sent Feyenoord into the lead in extra time of the 1st half with a great free kick goal. After the two red cards, Alireza Jahanbakhsh made it 2-0.
Holm transferred from Vålerenga on 1 July and has played five games for Celtic so far this season.
In the same pool, Lazio and Atlético Madrid played 1-1 after the Italians’ goalkeeper Ivan Provedel equalized deep into extra time.
After half an hour, 20-year-old Pablo Barrios scored the visitors’ lead when the shot changed direction via Daichi Kamada and went in. Five minutes into overtime, Provedel moved up in the field in search of an equaliser. The ball eventually entered the 16-metre area, and the goalkeeper poked the ball into the net to wild cheers.
