Oklahoma man charged in Kansas child sex crimes case

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office said a 45-year-old Oklahoma man was arrested, and he is now charged in a child sex crimes case.

Stephen Gillenwater of Bristow, Oklahoma, is charged with aggravated indecent liberties with a child, electronic solicitation of a child, sexual exploitation of a child and aggravated endangerment of a child.

The sheriff’s office said the investigation began at the end of March. Investigators were able to identify a suspect, and during the investigation, several additional allegations of child sex crimes were discovered.

On Saturday, Oct. 19, Gillenwater was arrested and booked into the Dickinson County Detention Facility. He made his first appearance in court on Monday, Oct. 21.
