The Green Bay Packers secured their first win of the 2024 NFL season in Week 2 when they outlasted the Indianapolis Colts.

It was an impressive and gritty win for Green Bay who was without Jordan Love, their star quarterback.

Love was ruled out with a knee injury that he suffered in Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles, though the Packers rallied around Malik Willis who drew the start in his place.

Willis landed with a team just a few weeks before the start of the regular season and is in line to start again in Week 3 against the Tennessee Titans.

However, Love was ruled as questionable for the contest which is a surprise given the severity of his injury.

Although Love has a shot to play against the Titans, it appears the Packers might be expecting him to sit after all given their recent roster move via Adam Schefter of ESPN.

“Packers elevated QB Sean Clifford from their practice squad to their active roster for Sunday’s game at Tennessee,” Schefter reported.

By calling up Sean Clifford, the team is signaling that Willis will be the starter and Love will get an extra week to rest his knee.

There were fears that Love would need to miss close to a month of action, but it looks like he has a shot to play much sooner than expected.

Against a Tennessee team that has struggled offensively, it makes sense to roll with Willis for at least one more week to ensure that Love is as close to 100 percent as possible before he makes his return.
