The Green Bay Packers were forced to turn to new backup quarterback Malik Willis under center in their Week 2 game against the Indianapolis Colts and the team managed to rally around him and get him his first win while filling in for injured starter Jordan Love.

Love suffered a knee injury at the end of the team’s Week 1 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles and was believed to be out for at least a few weeks, but he has reportedly been improving quicker than expected and the team has apparently already made a decision about his status for the team’s Week 3 matchup with the Tennessee Titans.

The Athletic’s Diana Russini reported that the Packers have already decided whether or not Love is playing on Sunday, but the team wants to keep its decision close to the vest and avoid leaking it to the public.

This is a sneaky move that likely means Love isn’t playing and that the Packers are only trying to sew dissent into the Titans’ locker room by throwing off their preparation.

Obviously, Willis and Love would require two entirely different game plans for the Titans, so playing coy and forcing them to prepare for both could give the Packers an advantage.

It isn’t against the rules to do this, even though it may be slightly dishonest, but it’s hard to imagine the team would let Love go back out there this quickly, especially in a winnable game.

Besides, everyone wants to see Willis get his shot at a revenge game against his former team.
