A source close to Hezbollah confirmed that members of the party were injured in a communications device explosion in Syria, without specifying their number.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, 4 people were injured in an explosion in a car near the Kafr Sousa neighborhood in the capital, Damascus.

In the vicinity of Sayyida Zeinab, 7 people were injured, and in the Qalamoun area, 3 people were injured with varying degrees of severity.

The Syrian Observatory indicated that a number of wounded people arrived at hospitals in Damascus and Rif Dimashq Governorate, as a result of their injuries after the explosion of communication devices they were carrying.

Lebanese Health Minister Firas Abiad had earlier announced that nine people were killed and about 2,750 others were injured – 200 of them in critical condition – in a series of simultaneous pager explosions across Lebanon.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah revealed in a statement that three people, a girl and two of its members, were killed in simultaneous explosions of communications devices on Tuesday, which led to hundreds of others among its ranks being injured.

A source close to Hezbollah said that among the dead were the sons of Hezbollah MPs Ali Ammar and Hassan Fadlallah.

The son of a prominent Hezbollah security official was also injured, according to the same source.

The Iranian ambassador to Beirut, Mojtaba Amani, was also slightly injured in a similar explosion, Iranian state television reported.

On Tuesday, communication devices exploded simultaneously in the southern suburbs of Beirut, the Bekaa, and southern Lebanon.

In a statement, Hezbollah held Israel “fully responsible” for the explosions.

He said, “After examining all the facts, current data and available information about the sinful attack (…), we hold the Israeli enemy fully responsible for this criminal aggression,” adding that “this treacherous and criminal enemy will certainly receive its just punishment.”
