FCT, Abuja — President Bola Tinubu met with three Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senators in Abuja on Wednesday, October 30.
The federal lawmakers from Kebbi state — senators Adamu Aliero, Yahaya Abdullahi, and Garba Maidola — met with the Nigerian leader at the presidential villa.
Tinubu, senators restate commitment to enhanced security
Bayo Onanuga, the special adviser to President Tinubu on information and strategy, shared photos of the meeting on his verified X (formerly Twitter) page.
Following the meeting, the Kebbi lawmakers vowed to improve security in the north, Guardian noted.
In the same vein, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that the senators lauded President Tinubu over the Sokoto-Badagry road project.
On security, Senator Aliero explained:
“The security situation in Kebbi state is manageable, but in Kebbi South, due to proximity to Niger and Zamfara, we experience bandit infiltration that disrupts farming.
“Similarly, in Kebbi North, close to Sokoto East, bandits disturb our farmers, which is why we are concerned that more action is needed to clear them from these areas.
“Mr President has assured us that further steps will be taken to ensure the security of lives and property, not only in Kebbi but throughout Nigeria.”
Meanwhile, the Kebbi lawmakers also declared support for the Tinubu administration, noting that despite political differences, they would contribute to responsible governance.
‘We’re clearing your rot’ – APC tells PDP
