The start of the 2024 NFL regular season has not gone as planned for the Los Angeles Rams, with Sean McVay’s squad losing Puka Nacua to a knee injury in a hard-fought battle with the Detroit Lions in Week 1 and seeing Cooper Kupp go down with an ankle injury in Week 2 in a devastating loss to the division-rival Arizona Cardinals.

After losing Nacua for a considerable amount of time, Kupp was expected to shoulder the load in the receiving corps like he’s done since he became a household name around the NFL.

Unfortunately, Kupp’s injury problems have come back to haunt him, as he’ll be dealing with this ankle issue moving forward.

However, even if he does sit out their Week 3 game against the San Francisco 49ers, he might not miss an extended period of time.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Rams do not plan to place Kupp on injured reserve, which might be a good sign that he can come back sooner rather than later.

If Kupp were to land on IR, he would have to sit out at least four games.

Coming into the season, the Rams had one of the most intimidating wide receiving corps in the NFL, with two of the best players at the position at the disposal of veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford.

Now, McVay and his staff will have to get creative in their efforts to put points on the board, which is something they struggled to do against the Cardinals in a 41-10 loss.
