Rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders are coming off a statement win on the road against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Daniels completed over 91 percent of his passes, threw for more than 250 yards, and tossed two touchdowns.
Former All-Pro defensive back Richard Sherman recently said that Daniels should be thankful he didn’t get drafted No. 1 overall by the Chicago Bears.
“Sometimes the benefit and the blessing is in not going No. 1. … The right situation for you might not have been Chicago,” Sherman said on his podcast.

Of course, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Caleb Williams, is currently struggling in Chicago.
In three games this season, Williams has a completion percentage under 60 percent and has thrown four interceptions compared to just two touchdown passes.
On the other hand, Daniels, the No. 2 overall pick, has helped the Commanders to back-to-back wins and has not yet thrown an interception.
As Sherman stated, it is sometimes just about the fit and the situation.
Look at what happened to a player like Aaron Rodgers.
He was drafted by the Green Bay Packers and sat behind Brett Favre for three years before taking the reins.
What about a player like Bryce Young?
He was drafted into a poor situation with the Carolina Panthers and is now paying the price for that, getting benched in favor of journeyman Andy Dalton.
The difference between Daniels and Williams is that although both are very talented, and although the season is just three games old, it seems their respective organizations are heading in different directions.
