Eitrem won in a time of 6:09.48 after teaming up with Italian Davide Ghiotto. It is the Norwegian’s second World Cup victory at 5000 metres.
– It is an insane achievement, said Viaplay expert Ida NjÃ¥tun.
At the same time, Eitrem was the only one to get under 6.10 in the race. Ghiotto was second in 6.10.04, while Dutchman Beau Snellink took third place in 6.11.68.
Peder Kongshaug was twelfth in a time of 6.20.70, while Hallgeir Engebråten was unable to reach top speed. He finished last in 16th place with a time of 6.22.28.
Earlier on Saturday, Ragne Wiklund could cheer for victory in the 3000 metres. This made it a very good Norwegian day in China.
