The Philadelphia Eagles were so close to a 2-0 start to the season.

Instead, they’re sitting on a 1-1 record and were left with a bad taste in their mouths.

A lot of things went wrong for Nick Sirianni’s team late in the game, and there are plenty of people to blame.

Notably, Saquon Barkley might be one of them.

As reported by Jordan Raanan on X, his crucial drop was his 16th since 2021, the most among running backs.

Granted, Barkley is one of the best running backs in the league, and he had been fairly efficient in his second game as a Philadelphia Eagle, but that drop was quite costly.

Of course, he shouldn’t have even been in that position in the first place.

The Eagles were facing 3rd-and-3 and were just a first down away from securing the game.

Then, instead of handing Barkley the ball and trusting their elite running back and offensive line, they called a pass that was eventually dropped by the Penn State product.

The Eagles had to settle for a field goal.

The clock stopped, and the Atlanta Falcons got a chance to beat them with a touchdown, which eventually happened.

The loss could be traced back to multiple decisions, but that play-call on 3rd-and-3 might be the most notorious one.

Kellen Moore and Nick Sirianni should take the blame for this loss.

As for Barkley, he needs to work on his hands, as he’s just too good of a player to keep making those mistakes.
