The Seattle Seahawks have opened the 2024 NFL season with wins against the Denver Broncos and New England Patriots, and they’re hoping to improve to 3-0 when they host the Miami Dolphins.

The Dolphins will be without star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, and Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III has been dealing with an oblique injury.

Walker was a limited participant in practice, and Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said it’s “not looking great” that he will be able to play, according to Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times.

Walker has been a big reason Seattle has remained competitive since trading away quarterback Russell Wilson in the 2022 offseason.

The 23-year-old ran for 1,050 yards and nine touchdowns as a rookie in 2022, and so far this season has 103 rushing yards and one touchdown.

He missed the game in Week 2, and if he’s unable to play in Week 3, it would continue to place more of a burden on second-year man Zach Charbonnet, who had 38 rushing yards and a touchdown on 14 carries against New England, a game Seattle won on a field goal in overtime.

So far this season, the Seahawks are just 24th in rushing yards and tied for 27th in yards per rush attempt, and they also have struggled to stop the run defensively.

Upcoming on their schedule, they have a “Monday Night Football” game in Week 4 at the Detroit Lions and will host the San Francisco 49ers in Week 6 on “Thursday Night Football.”
