Horsin’ around is encouraged at a new barn and breakfast-themed Airbnb experience in Sewickley Hills.
Barn & Breakfast at Tail Worthy Stables is a renovated equestrian barn stay available for rent on almost nine acres in Allegheny County.
The stay is unique in that it offers one-on-one interactions with a friendly mini-pony named Domino, owned by newlyweds Kat and Michael Ray.
Additionally, boarding is available for up to four horses.
The couple bought the farm in March.
“We named it Tail Worthy because we want it to be worthy of the animals, worthy of people’s most beloved pets,” Kat Ray said.
Kat, 34, grew up in Mars and Michael, 35, is from South Korea.
They married on the farm this month and have a new business to celebrate their new marriage.
“We’ve been together for 14 years, so it’s not that new to us. We’re excited for all of it,” Kat said.

Newlyweds Michael and Kat Ray of Sewickley Hills recently renovated and opened Barn & Breakfast at Tail Worthy Stables, a new Airbnb lodging option offering a farm-themed guest experience.
The barn apartment is available for booking online on Airbnb.
It features a one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment decorated with stylish Southwest decor blended with modern comfort and rural charm.
There’s a washer/dryer and even a mini dishwasher in the kitchenette.
Guests looking to share time with Domino are in for a treat — and expected to dole out the treats, too.
Domino,7, loves to nosh on carrots, and food for him is included in the rental fee, which ranges from $87-$300 per night.
“I want people to have a little fun here,” Kat Ray said. “I wanted to have a horse theme incorporated. We wanted people to feel as though they’re a part of the environment and not just staying here. It’s a little romantic, quiet and a little cozy.”

Kat’s mother is a house flipper, her father is a carpenter and her uncle is a plumber.
They all lent their talents to the renovations.
“It was a family effort, and it took many, many hours and a lot of hard work,” Kat said.
The couple resides on a separate home on the property.
Domino roams around his pasture on most days and is available to guests.
The couple work at home, Kat in big tech and Michael an educator.
“This is absolutely our passion,” Michael said. “It’s finally come to fruition. We wanted a space for our mental health and we wanted to share that — a retreat — with other people.”
Horse boarding rates start at $900 per month.
“We’re happy to serve the community, and it’s unique because you’re literally on the farm,” Kat said.
Guests are invited to explore the grounds, enjoy the fire pit and free s’mores supplies, hang out with Domino and immerse themselves in rural relaxation.
Kat said one recent guest actually enjoyed breakfast outside with Domino at the picnic table.
To date, the rental has been booked solid every weekend.
“It lends itself to couples mostly due to the size,” Michael said.
