For years, Shaquille O’Neal was the most dominant force in the NBA.

He’s been away from the game for a long time, and he’s still considered to be the most dominant player of all time.

As such, and given his high profile and fame, he often takes it upon himself to call out younger players, especially big men.

That’s why he’s been quite harsh on Rudy Gobert, who recently hit back at his comments.

Shaq called Gobert ‘the worst player in the NBA,’ to which the Frenchman claimed that he was just trying to stay relevant.

With that in mind, Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller asked him about it during his appearance on The OGs podcast, and Shaq claimed that it was a test, which he failed (via NBA Central).

Shaq stated that he wants players to feel challenged and come back firing to prove him wrong.

Instead, guys like Gobert just prove that they don’t have it and that they’re sensitive.

On the one hand, if anybody can criticize or call out a big man, it’s Shaq.

On the other hand, it’s not like he’s the gatekeeper who decides who’s a good player or who isn’t; he’s just entitled to his opinion like anybody else.

Then again, he’s by no means the only current or former player who’s called out Gobert, so there’s also that.
