In the Godhuma Raayi ritual, traditionally observed in Telugu weddings, women from the bride and groom’s families participate in grinding raw turmeric and wheat, symbolising the union of the two families. This ceremonial turmeric paste is later used during the Haldi ceremony, highlighting the significance of this auspicious event.
