He is getting his own side story campaign in the updated Sonic X Shadow Generations, where he faces off against a variety of old foes, along with a starring role in the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 3, voiced by Keanu Reeves. Many fans, however, were caught off-guard when Sega revealed that the two ventures would be crossing over in some special bonus DLC.
