When Jahan Dotson was selected with the 16th overall pick by the Washington Commanders in the 2022 NFL Draft, expectations for the receiver were high.

During his college career at Penn State, Dotson caught 183 passes for over 2,700 yards and 25 touchdowns.

Those numbers included an outstanding senior year in 2021 when he hauled in 91 passes and 12 scores.

As a rookie with Washington in 2022, Dotson missed time with a hamstring injury but still posted 35 catches and seven touchdowns.

The following year, he increased his receptions to 49 while catching four touchdowns.

Then, this past August, Dotson was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles for some picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.

So far, his play for the Eagles has been alarming.

In 2024, Dotson has one start and one catch for six yards.

According to Eagles Nation, that means Dotson has a paltry 27.5% win rate on his routes this year.

That ranks him 104th in the entire NFL.

Dotson’s lone reception came during the team’s loss to Atlanta on Monday Night Football.

Starting wide receiver AJ Brown is on the injured list meaning Dotson will start again in Week 3 against the upstart New Orleans Saints.

DeVonta Smith is Philly’s other starting receiver but the team doesn’t have an established third pass catcher, yet.

After the Eagles’ loss to the Falcons on Monday, fans are a bit nervous that the organization will repeat their losing ways from 2023.

Last year, the Eagles started 10-1 before finishing 11-6 and getting blown out in the playoffs by Tampa Bay.

With Brown out of action and Doston underperforming, it could be another long year for Philly.
