As NFL Week 2 drew to a close, the league showcased an impressive array of talent, strategy, and sheer determination.

From the Bills’ balanced attack to the Saints’ high-powered offense, teams across the board set the stage for what promises to be an enthralling season ahead.

In the wake of these performances, Stephen A. Smith unveiled his latest “Stephen’s A-List” on Tuesday’s First Take, ranking the top five NFL teams.

The Buffalo Bills claimed the coveted top spot, followed by the Kansas City Chiefs, New Orleans Saints, Los Angeles Chargers, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Smith highlighted Baker Mayfield’s noteworthy performance with the Buccaneers, even suggesting he merits consideration among the league’s top quarterbacks.

Tampa Bay’s victory over Detroit in their home stadium, marking the Lions’ first home loss since last Thanksgiving, further solidified their position.

The Chargers earned praise for their defensive prowess, conceding just 13 points in their opening games.

Smith commended new coach Jim Harbaugh’s impact, particularly noting their impressive win against the Raiders despite key offensive absences.

The Saints’ emergence as a top-tier team caught Smith’s attention, with their offense flourishing under new coordinator Klint Kubiak.

Their 91-point tally in two games, including a dominant performance against the Cowboys, underscored their potency.

Moving on, Smith acknowledged the Chiefs’ performance in the two opening games, however, due to their close calls in both games, he had them in the second spot.

The Buffalo Bills, however, claimed the top ranking, defying preseason expectations and asserting early dominance in the competitive AFC East.

These dynamics will undoubtedly shift, but for now, these five teams have established themselves as the league’s frontrunners in Smith’s estimation.
