Støre rejects AUF’s request for a tenfold increase in support for Ukraine – Dagsavisen

– AUF proposes a minimum amount, a floor, of 150 billion a year to ensure Ukraine enough money to provide ammunition for the soldiers at the front and to keep the school offer up in Ukraine, says AUF leader Gaute Børstad Skjervø to TV 2.

He believes that it is absolutely crucial that Ukraine survives as a welfare state, but also as a free and independent country.

The AUF leader joins the ranks of politicians who are pushing for the government to open the Oil Fund’s bank account to support Ukraine’s defense fight against Russia’s war of invasion.

Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, who is the leader of AUF’s mother party Ap, tells TV 2 that it is not relevant to let Norway’s financial support for Ukraine’s defense struggle exceed 100 billion annually.

When asked by TV 2 whether he thinks the support can amount to a three-digit number of billions, Støre answers, among other things, as follows:

– No, I don’t think so, because I think another level is correct.
