The arrested Palestinians planned to kill the minister and his son, says a statement from the Israeli police and the Shin Bet security service.
According to Israeli information, one of those arrested must have sought help from Hamas and Hezbollah. One of the options considered was to stage a terrorist attack and then kill Ben-Gvir when he arrived at the scene, writes the Israeli newspaper Haaretz.
Ben Gvir belongs to the extreme right-wing nationalist party Jødisk Makt and has been the subject of several assassination plots in recent years.
