Nico Collins’ stellar performance in the Houston Texans’ Week 2 victory over the Chicago Bears raised no red flags.

The wide receiver dominated, playing 84 percent of snaps and leading his team in routes, targets and with an impressive 135 yards.

However, concerns arose when Collins was absent from a recent practice with hip and foot injuries.

The news unsettled Texans fans, given Collins’ league-leading 252 receiving yards in the first two weeks of the 2024 NFL season.

Fortunately, two practice sessions remain before the Week 3 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings, and a report from Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston offered some reassurance.

“Wide receiver Nico Collins (hip-foot) is expected to play Sunday against [the] Vikings,” Wilson wrote on X.

If Collins were to be sidelined, receivers Stefon Diggs and Tank Dell would likely see a significant increase in their roles.

The Texans could face additional challenges with running backs Joe Mixon (ankle) and Dameon Pierce (hamstring) also missing practice.

That could pave the way for Cam Akers to shoulder a heavier workload from the backfield.

Despite the injury concerns, the Texans have shown promise this season.

Quarterback C.J. Stroud has been impressive, leading the offense without throwing an interception.

The defense also has held its own, allowing 254.0 yards per game and performing well against the run.

As Week 3 approaches, Houston’s ability to adapt to potential absences will be crucial in maintaining its early-season momentum.
