– The tribunal can pronounce on – and publish – individual cases that can be anonymised. Questions about specific cases which – rightly or wrongly – are linked to well-known individuals, the confidentiality rules will prevent the tribunal from making a statement. In April, Nord University banned Kjerkol for cheating for a master’s thesis she submitted with a fellow student in 2021. Kjerkol appealed the decision, and Felle’s appeals board heard the case on Wednesday.

– When all other students have their cases published on the tribunal’s website, it is very unfair that a powerful, public figure should receive special treatment compared to ordinary students. It can be stressful for everyone to go through a case like this, and I think many students will react when they see that Kjerkol is being treated differently from them, she says.
