The LO management has lost contact with ordinary people – Dagsavisen

– The LO leadership, led by Peggy Hessen Følsvik, is so far from the grassroots and its own members that it is almost frightening to watch, says Listhaug to The class struggle.

She believes that LO is almost invisible in matters that matter to people now.

– When schools, institutions for the elderly are closed and basic welfare services are cut, it is something that affects LO members directly. You would have thought they would fight for it, says the Frp leader.

When the LO leadership will first put pressure on the government, it will be for the number of quota refugees to be increased, according to Listhaug.

LO leader Peggy Hessen Følsvik writes in an email to the newspaper that they register that Listhaug is now showing concern for LO members.

– She did not do that during almost eight years in a government that weakened our members’ rights in a number of areas.

Følsvik says that LO has been a driving force for the government to increase the allocation to the municipalities, and that their shop stewards are fighting for the members’ interests in Conservative- and FRP-governed municipalities across the country.
