– The road will remain closed until a geologist has assessed the area on site during the morning. The municipality’s crisis management has been briefed, the police said at 7 o’clock on Sunday morning.
The landslide, which has crossed national highway 7 Hallingdalsvegen near Bromma in Nesbyen, was reported at 4.32am.
– So far, six people from two residential buildings have been evacuated, operations manager Marius Daffinrud Fosvold in the Southeast police district told NTB an hour later.

Considered evacuation
A helicopter then hung over the avalanche area to assess further evacuation. A geologist has also been called in to participate in this work. There are six homes located in the landslide area.
– There are no reports that neither buildings nor people have been taken by the landslide, said the operations manager at 5.30. The police confirmed at 7 o’clock that no one was physically injured after the collapse, and no other houses were affected.
Crisis management notified
It was residents of the houses who reported the landslide across Hallingdalsvegen. According to Fosvold, the landslide was increasing for a period, but it looks like it has stabilised. Highway 7 is closed and a detour is signposted.
The police state that the municipality’s crisis management has been notified. Both the rescue helicopter and the police helicopter were called to participate in the evacuation.
