County road 659 over the Lepsøy Bridge in Haram was closed due to strong winds, the Road Traffic Center reported mid-early Saturday. At 5 p.m., the bridge opened to traffic again, according to NRK.
Lepsøybrua is the way out to the Nordøyane on Sunnmøre. The closure meant according to NRK that 2,700 residents on Lepsøy, Haramsøy, Flemsøy/Skuløy, Fjørtoft, Harøya and Finnøya were isolated.
The rough weather conditions also created problems for ferry traffic in the same area.
Several ferry routes were canceled or changed their route. Late in the afternoon, traffic on several ferry connections was back to normal operation, writes Sunnmørsposten.
Both Kystruten and Hurtigruten already announced on Thursday that they are canceling several departures this weekend due to bad weather.
