– This probably goes the way of Trump. It’s not over yet, but it doesn’t look bright for Harris, says Professor Hilmar Mjelde at the University of Western Norway to NTB at 5 o’clock on the night of the election.
– By all accounts, this is a new 2016. This election is definitely not like the 2020 election for the Democrats, he adds.
– A solid sign of where the election wind is blowing is the silence from the Harris camp now, while the Trump camp is bubbling with optimism and energy.
As early as 4 o’clock, after Trump, among other things, won Florida with a large margin of victory, Mjelde said that he thought it was a bad sign for Harris. He stressed, however, that the trend could reverse when the large and most populous areas finished counting votes.
– But should this happen, Kamala Harris must win the swing states in the north to still have a path to the White House, he said, pointing to the swing states of Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin.
The votes have not yet been counted.
