The centre-back was up on a corner kick and put his head on a header from Emma Stølen Godø so the ball went past the goalkeeper. It happened two minutes before full time.
Vålerenga had huge chances to take the lead, but substitute Jovana Damnjanovic scored in the 75th minute what appeared to be the winning goal after a fine attack in which the Vålerenga defense did not follow through. Pernille Harder played Giulia Gwinn on the right, and she hit directly to Damnjanovic, who finished before Sara Hørte reached forward with her tackling foot.
Ena Mahmutovic has taken over the place in the Bayern goal after Maria Luisa Grohs was diagnosed with cancer last week. She made some great saves.
Godø had a great double chance in the first half, but Mahmutovic saved. The Bayern goalkeeper also got his hands on Olaug Tvedten’s huge chance in the second half, changing direction enough for the ball to hit both posts before being cleared.
In the final minutes, one VIF corner kick bounced off the crossbar before Karina Sævik’s finish on the return was blocked, but in the end it was successful.
Double chance
Bayern Munich got off to the best start and got the first chance. In the 12th minute, Weronika Zawistowska crossed from the right and found Pernille Harder in the goal yard, but her finish went straight to goalkeeper Tove Enblom.
Otherwise, Vålerenga defended well and did not let the big favorite have big chances in the first half. The Oslo team themselves created the half’s biggest chance.
In the 17th minute, Tvedten was run down by Sarah Zadrazil when she started a counterattack, but Karina Sævik took over the ball and played a nice breakthrough pass to Godø, who was alone with the goalkeeper.
Mahmutovic made himself big and took the shot to the body. Godø got the rebound, but Giulia Gwinn threw herself forward and blocked.

Bitter
– It was bitter. I would have liked to have seen it finish, but it was a good game by us. We give Bayern a good fight, and this provides motivation, Godø told VGTV during the break.
Vålerenga was also close to scoring on the corner kick after the double chance. Linn Vickus rolled the ball out to Sædis Heidarsdottir. Her shot changed direction on a Bayern heel, caught the keeper on the wrong foot and narrowly bounced wide.
– It is the best half we have played against Bayern and Arsenal. It is close to what we did against Juventus, said VIF coach Nils Lexerød to VGTV.
In the 56th minute, Tvedten was played forward in the box by Sævik, and she fired towards the farthest cross. Mahmutinovic got a few fingers on the ball, which hit the post at the top of the cross, flew along the line and hit the opposite post before a Bayern defender cleared,
Enblom also had to be in action a few times, and her save on Zawistowska’s shot in the 60th minute was of a high class. But she had no chance when Damnjanovic scored.
It was the team’s fourth straight loss, but Thorsnes managed a long-awaited and historic point.
On Sunday, Vålerenga will play the cup final against Rosenborg at the Ullevaal stadium. The team will face Arsenal at home at Valle on 12 December and Juventus away on 18 December in the last two Champions League games.
