Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan once shared a heartwarming moment during the Filmfare Awards, long before the actress became the Bachchan bahu. Aishwarya received the Filmfare Award for being the Best Actress that year. She won for her role in Devdas. During the award ceremony, the actress came dressed in a traditional red saree along with heavy jewellery. She even performed during the show in her traditional attire.
As her named was called out by Jaya Bachchan, she graciously walked up to the stage. The trophy was handed to her by Preity Zinta who was standing beside Jaya. Aishwarya hugged both Jaya and Preity after accepting the award.
The actress said, “I thank everybody who’s made it possible for me to receive this award today. It’s an absolute honour. I thank the industry for having shown their faith, my audience for your unconditional love, the unit for this excellent film, everybody involved in making this classic ad inspiring me to give my best.”
Aishwarya shared the screen with Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit Nene in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Devdas.
