New statistics published by the Turkish Travel Agencies Association (TÜRSAB) showed remarkable growth in the medical tourism sector in Turkey. About 746,000 tourists from around the world flocked to Turkey during the first half of this year for the purpose of treatment.
The Federation’s spokesman highlighted the great progress Turkey has achieved in this sector, noting, “We receive patients from multiple countries, especially from neighboring geographical regions.” He stressed the broad ambitions that the country seeks to achieve with the aim of becoming the world’s leading destination in the field of medical tourism.
He said: “Turkey is distinguished by a group of high-level medical expertise and hospitals equipped with the latest technology, which places it at the forefront of the countries preferred by tourists for treatment.”
The government hopes for continued growth in this sector, not only as a way to boost tourism, but also as a pivotal element for revitalizing the Turkish economy.
