Up and down temps before a pleasant weekend

The latest front has slid through the Sunflower State. There will not be much cloud cover and the disturbance also came through dry.

Up and down temps before a pleasant weekend

Winds have switched out of the northeast which will cause high temperatures to take a dip. With the exception of Northwest Kansas and Southwest Nebraska, most of us will still be above average.

Winds start to switch out of the southeast later today. This will set us up for a warmer day Thursday. Record high temperatures are around the upper 80s and low 90s this time of year so some of us will get close.

Winds will also be gusty tomorrow too. They will be strongest in South Central Kansas. This is where the threat of grassfires will be elevated due to the strong winds, warm temperatures, and dry conditions.

Another front slides through the area tomorrow. It could spark a shower or storm around and east of the turnpike by the evening. So far, severe weather is not expected.

Any storms will move out early in the overnight. Active weather gets put on hold the rest of the week.

Temperatures cool right back down Friday. Sunshine lasts through the weekend and then the new week starts windy and warm.
