Visibly intoxicated woman in custody after crashing Tesla during pursuit in Los Angeles 

A visibly intoxicated woman was taken into custody after crashing her Tesla while being pursued by police overnight. 

According to initial information, officers attempted to stop the woman in Reseda just before 12:30 a.m. Wednesday. 

She did not yield, and a pursuit was initiated on Sherman Way, preliminary information indicates.

The woman eventually collided with a Toyota pickup truck at the intersection of Sherman and Lindly Avenue, news stringer service OnSceneTV reported. 

Video from the scene shows officers assisting the woman, who appeared unable to stand up straight at times. She was seen being placed in handcuffs before being escorted into the back of an LAPD squad car. 

Both her Tesla and the pickup truck were severely damaged. It did not appear that the driver of the pickup was injured; they were seen speaking to police from the driver’s seat. 

How long the pursuit lasted and the exact charges the woman may be facing are not known. KTLA has reached out to the LAPD for more information.
