Woman dies after backing into active airplane propeller in Derby

DERBY, Kan. (KSNW) – A woman has died after backing into an active airplane propeller in Derby Saturday afternoon.

The incident happened at around 2:40 at Cook Airfield.

According to the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office, the woman was taking photos when she walked into the propeller and was critically injured.

She died at the hospital.

Law enforcement hasn’t released the identity of the woman.
