Xbox Game Pass New Games for October 2024 Wish List

Xbox Game Pass New Games for October 2024 Wish List

Key Takeaways

  • Xbox Game Pass could use more titles in October beyond Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
  • Neva and A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead are potential additions to Xbox Game Pass for October.
  • Silent Hill: HD Collection could be a good consolation for Xbox players missing out on Silent Hill 2 Remake, too.

September has been a pretty good month so far for Xbox Game Pass, going a decent way in making up for some of the service’s slower summer months. Age of Mythology: Retold and Star Trucker kicked the month off well, Frostpunk 2 has just delivered another high-quality strategy experience, and Ara: History Untold is just days away for PC Game Pass subscribers. It’s unclear, however, if Xbox Game Pass will be able to keep up this momentum for October.

Xbox Game Pass has just one game confirmed for its October 2024 line-up. While that one game is the absolute juggernaut Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, even the biggest games can’t support an entire month of Xbox Game Pass alone. Game Pass needs a few more titles this October, especially when PlayStation has quite a few console exclusives waiting in the wings this coming month.

Neva

Release Date: October 15

The long-awaited next game from Gris‘ Nomada Studio, Neva is set to launch on October 15, and it’d make for an impressive day-one Xbox Game Pass launch title. Neva takes Gris‘ breathtaking watercolor art style and paints it over another emotional tale, this time revolving around a woman and her deep, lifelong bond with a magical wolf. Neva looks to be one of the most exciting Indie releases of October, and it could find an even stronger day-one audience with Game Pass.

A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead

Release Date: October 17

Being just a few short weeks away from October also means that it’s only a few weeks until Spooky Season officially begins, and Xbox Game Pass could use some horror titles in its line-up. A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is set to release on October 17, delivering a first-person horror experience based on the titular Hollywood movie franchise. In The Road Ahead, players must slowly make their way through various environments, being careful to avoid making any noise, as the moment they do they’ll be swarmed by Death Angels.

[REDACTED]

Release Date: October 31

A spinoff of 2022’s Sci-Fi horror game The Callisto Protocol, [REDACTED] is an isometric roguelike shooter that sees players assume the role of a Black Iron prison guard who’s caught in the middle of a zombie outbreak. [REDACTED] boasts a vibrant graphic novel-like art style, a 180bpm “arcade-punk” soundtrack, and plenty of build variety. For those who have had their fill of Hades 2‘s early access period but still want to scratch that fast-paced roguelike itch, [REDACTED] could be the next best thing, and it’d be amazing to see it on Xbox Game Pass this October.

Silent Hill: HD Collection

Available Now

One of the biggest releases of October 2024 is Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 Remake. Unfortunately, Silent Hill 2 Remake is only coming to PC and PlayStation 5 on launch, meaning that Xbox players are missing out on what could end up being the best horror game this Halloween. To try to soften this blow, Xbox Game Pass could add the Silent Hill: HD Collection this October, which would give Xbox users the chance to play through Silent Hill 2 and 3. Of course, the Silent Hill: HD Collection is far from the best way to play these games due to its divisive voice acting and graphics, but it’s the only option for Silent Hill fans on Xbox.
