This is shown by figures from the analysis company Experian.
The building and construction industry is the hardest hit and accounts for 28 per cent of bankruptcies in the past year. Since September last year, 1,072 companies within construction have gone bankrupt.
“Fortunately, the figures also show a decline in bankruptcies in some industries that are usually considered vulnerable industries,” says analyst Julie Berg in a press release.
The accommodation and catering industry continues its recovery after the pandemic. So far this year, the number of bankruptcies has been reduced by 12 per cent compared to the same period last year.
“Unfortunately, the figures do not say anything about whether this is due to increasing tourism due to the weak krone, but it is reasonable to assume so,” says Berg.
The figures also reveal regional differences. Inland has experienced an increase of 30 per cent in the past year, closely followed by Møre and Romsdal at 29 per cent. Agder has had an increase of 21 per cent.
Rogaland is the only county with a decrease in the last twelve months. This county has had a decrease in bankruptcies of 7.3 per cent, while the figures for Vestland are stable. In the other counties, the bankruptcy figures have increased.
