KBI identifies skeletal remains found in Wilson County, arrest made

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Kansas Bureau of Investigation said agencies have identified the skeletal remains found in rural Wilson County and made an arrest in connection.

The KBI said the remains are identified as Levi Ellis, 39, of Neodesha. An autopsy was conducted on his remains.

Ellis’ remains were found on Sept. 24 in a pasture east of the 6500 block of Ottawa Road in Neodesha.

KBI agents, with assistance from officers with the Neodesha Police Department, developed a suspect in the case. An arrest warrant was issued connected to Ellis’ death.

The suspect is another Neodesha man. He was found and arrested in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, on Tuesday afternoon on suspicion of first-degree murder.

An investigation is ongoing.
