A Starfield player has picked a wacky look for their spaceship, making it appear like a giant Windows mouse cursor. Using the built-in Ship Builder feature or through third-party Starfield mods, players can build and customize spaceships in the game to their own liking.

Since coming out amid strong hype in 2023, Starfield has enabled players to live out their sci-fi fantasies within its vast in-game world. However, despite a positive reception at launch, Starfield has faced bouts of dwindling player engagement over the past several months. Fortunately, certain enthusiastic fans, who still seem to be engrossed in the game, have been keeping the community buzzing by sharing their eye-catching creations. The latest one among such works has to do with one player’s wacky spaceship design.

On Reddit, a Starfield player posted pictures of their Windows mouse cursor-inspired spaceship called the “Double-click Destroyer.” The images show a giant white-colored spacecraft with angled wings and a narrow bottom-half, mimicking the design of the mouse cursor. Showcasing the unique spaceship in all its glory, the post depicts the Double-click Destroyer gliding through space using its boosters and also gives a glimpse at how the massive Starfield spacecraft looks while stationary on a solid surface. In the comment thread, the player revealed that the spaceship was made possible by using mods, namely Better Ship Part Flips, Better Ship Part Snaps, Matilija’s Aerospace, VikingTek, and 1-of-a-Kind Ships.

Starfield Player’s PC Cursor-Themed Spaceship Draws Praise

The Windows mouse cursor-based spacecraft drew the attention of the Starfield community on Reddit, leading to many of them applauding the player’s effort. Some comments in particular took note of the symmetry of the spaceship’s mouse cursor design, a trait that isn’t present in the Windows mouse cursor itself. One of the comments said, “At least [sic] this one is symmetrical.” A user chipped in with a Windows-related joke, saying, “Windows exploring where no man has gone before.” Another user continued the gag with, “Getting an edge in combat.”

Interestingly, there have been several different spaceship designs that have managed to fascinate the Starfield community on the internet before. Ranging from a Pokemon-themed spacecraft to a shampoo bottle-like spaceship, players have let their imaginations run wild with spaceship-building in Starfield. Besides this, certain other player creations, such as the flora-and-fauna database concept for better exploring Starfield‘s world, have also received positive feedback from the game’s community.

Starfield may soon be able to leave its player count woes behind with the launch of the Shattered Space DLC on September 30. This expansion pack for Starfield brings new weapons, bosses, factions, and more, as it looks to breathe new life into Bethesda’s space exploration game. Whether the DLC proves successful in doing what other highly anticipated DLCs, such as Elden Ring‘s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, did for the base game remains to be seen.
